Hello to all. I have been somewhat busy lately so I have not been on here too often. That is OK though. Anyways, I wanted to see if people are seeing this the same as I do.
Mr. Miller is one of my favs on the radio especially when he gets into the plays and the names and also how it works. At first I was somewhat lost but I have come to understand it alittle more. I am no expert or even good at it, but I think I am starting to understand. Last week he was on with Pat Kerwin and the were quite good. Jimmy is becoming quite the host and he controls the time and phones well. He is not T-Roc but I have (as most of you) listened to him for a few years? I believe. He was also on today and I think he is maturing as the lead host. Am I wrong? I am not saying he is the best, but I feel he is better than Ross Tucker. I like Ross also but he seems to be to quick to say goodbye to the callers. Anyways, I would love to also hear, T-Rock, PK and Mills (the journey man) for a whole show or a whole week. I am looking forward to training camp tour. The insight is awsome as well. I wish I had more time or runs that took me to 1 or 2 camps to meet the fellas and any of you that were there. I was just wondering how everyone else sees it.

crazy i also think that t-roc and Pat are the best pair on sirius but also have really grown to like Jim Miller. As a U of M fan i have seen Mills play for a long time and hoped he would have made the lions squad in 99 but got screwed by Bobby Ross who cut him to bring in an over the hill Frank Reick. his insight into quarterback play and how plays are designed is wonderful and quite educational. truely believe he is becoming one of the better hosts on sirius. when he and ross are hosting together it is truely entertaining and love that mills more than holds his own with ross and his i am always right opinions.

I dont feel like Miller is truly objective enough. Seems like he discusses players stereo types more then their actual abilities. Listened to him break down Alex Smith and it was about as unoriginal of an analysis you could have, something I would expect from maybe Schein who never played a day in his life but from an ex QB? It was like he googled Alex Smith and quickly read the first blurb he found.
Not to mention he's a typical ex player that now has significantly higher expectations for players still playing then he ever would have put on himself.
Truly all anyone has to say about Jim Millers objectiveness is... 11-5

Pretty harsh there, you think? It might be that A Smith is just bland in his approach to the game.

Mills is an excellent #2 guy, but the lead host (as the Commish explained well a few months ago) has a different job than just speaking intelligently about football X's and O's. He has to have a sense of how the show needs to flow, how to transition into and out of breaks, how to segue into guests, etc. T-Rock is excellent at this, and so are Schein (gag), BMac, and Papa. Mills doesn't control a show well as the lead guy, and honestly Pat Kirwan doesn't either. They are football guys pure and simple and we love them for it, but without some journalistic training, neither should be lead hosts on radio shows.
